San Antonio Express-News, ADVERTISEMENT AND INVITATION FOR BIDS The City of Del Rio will receive sealed bids addressed to Susan Corp, City Secretary, Del Rio, Texas, for the reconstruction of the North Apron at Del Rio International Airport until 3:00 p.m. July 7, 2015, at City Hall, 109 W. Broadway, Del Rio, Texas 78840. All bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the SEALED package or envelope as follows: R:2015-048 Reconstruct North Apron. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at Del Rio City Hall, Council Chambers on July 7, 2015 at 3:05 p.m. A pre-bid meeting will be held June 24, 2015, at the Del Rio International Airport Terminal Building, 1104 West 10th St. Del Rio, Texas, starting at 2:00 pm. Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work including, but not limited to, the following: In general the work consist of the demolition of 5900 square yards of asphalt pavement; construction of 8,800 square yards of 2"asphalt pavement; 800 square yards of 6" concrete pavement; 260 linear feet of 24-inch RCP storm sewer; and pavement markings. Bid alternate 1 is included for the demolition and reconstruction of an additional 1400 square yards of asphalt pavement. Bid alternate 2 and Bid Alternate 3 are included to substitute TxDOT Standard Specification Item 341 in place of FAA Specification P-401. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at the City of Del Rio web site. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Del Rio or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are also on file with AGC San Antonio Chapter and Dodge Plans. This project will be funded in part by the Federal Aviation Administration. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the current federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Office of Rural Community Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex age or national origin. The proposed contract is subject to 49 CFR Part 23 concerning the participation of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises and is under and subject to Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965 and to Equal Opportunity Clause contained in the bidding documents. The City of Del Rio reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by City of Del Rio for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award and is subject to FAA funding availability. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
